DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an experienced Vehicle Dynamics Engineer to join an exciting vehicle development project on a permanent basis. The right candidate will be able to work in a dynamic environment alongside a team of engineers and technicians to deliver a product that meets all Vehicle Performance attribute targets.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Create and validate models for vehicle dynamics analysis and simulation.

  • Develop in-house tools for data and simulation post-processing.

  • Conduct vehicle level analysis to define vehicle specifications and performance targets to support system requirement definition.

  • Conduct suspension level analysis to support chassis build spec definition.

  • Lead virtual durability activities for robust and efficient component structural and fatigue analysis.

  • Post-process and analyze vehicle performance data to report vehicle status, root cause concerns, deliver recommendations to support vehicle development and escalate conflicts to the Vehicle Performance Director.

  • Work collaboratively with engineering and product management teams to ensure a timely and efficient project delivery.

  • Write and deliver technical reports and presentations to communicate project status and findings to management.

WHO YOU ARE

  • 1st Class Bachelor or Masters degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Motorsport Engineering 

  • At least 2 years of experience in Vehicle Dynamics simulation. 

  • Proficiency in using specialized software tools for data analysis, such as MATLAB, or similar.

  • Proficiency in using Multi-body Dynamics software such as Adams, or similar and 1D simulation software such as VI-CRT, or similar.

  • Excellent understanding of vehicle dynamics and controls fundamentals with experience in vehicle modeling and analysis. 

  • Understanding of the fundamentals of chassis control systems (ESP, TV, semi-active dampers).  

  • Desirable experience performing virtual vehicle development using Driver-in-the-Loop (DIL) simulators.

  • Desirable experience in programming languages such as Python or C/C++.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills. 

  • Excellent team-worker, who is agile, proactive, and has a "startup" attitude. 

  • Track record demonstrating creativity and ingenuity.
